I like almost anything with fantasy and the mythology of different cultures. Interesting palettes are definitely among my favourites

Actually, there are no closed partners (as in person 1 giving to person 2 and the other way) as everyone is chained. So there is no possible way the person you are pixelling for is pixelling for you.
Anyway Pan, the secret santa is all about getting presents from someone random you don't expect, if you can't cope with both pros and cons, you shouldn't have signed up from the beginning.

Most programs you should be able to turn off autoAA, usually by unclicking a 'High Quality' selection, from my personal experience. I would personally not turn off the autoAA, and rotate it, then just use it as a reference and re-pixel it.
